I am so happy being back in our pre-summer morning routine. Wake up, breakfast, get ready, work out at the gym while Porter plays in daycare (I either do spin, flex class, or run on treadmill) and then over to story time which makes for a snack at home and nap time. Porter loved story time today! He LOVED the teddy bear song just like he did all winter/spring and he even sat down on the rug a couple times on his own accord. Improvement! It's such a cute thing I love it. Hope it's a good pre-preschool thing to do. I also included a pictures of one of Porter's favorite "chores": shredding papers. He LOVES it. What a good little helper. He is being so obedient and listens 99% of the time. He still does his normal chores (putting "dirties" in the laundry basket, "diaper duty" putting dirty diapers in the Diaper Genie, putting his dirty dishes in the sink, picking up bath toys after bath, etc) but he listens most of the time when I ask him to get in his car seat (he can climb in himself now!) or when asked to throw something in the trash or when I ask him to lay down for a diaper change. The other day he helped me carry stuff to the car and back into the house. In the past couple days he has really enjoyed saying "Mama"...or rather shouting it...over and over. So cute right now but I'm sure will get tiresome. Through the summer (June & July) Porter started refusing to wear sandals and had to have "sockie" and "shoos". I am happy to say he has just decided it's okay again to wear sandals/flip flops. He is such a happy kid; Daddy is what makes him the happiest. Porter worships (is there another word I could put there to mean the same thing?) him. I am enjoying this little boy so much. Can I keep him?

just watch him closely with that shredder. My niece went to shred something when kevin was about P's age and he got so excited he stuck his fingers in there and they got stuck. The blades were just spinning like CRAZY and I was freaking out trying to pull his hand out of there. We got lucky, his fingers didn't fit far enough down the slot to chop them but I had no idea he would even put them there to begin with.
I love this post! I love his chore list. I wish I had that chore list. He is a very good boy. He was so good here and that's after an insane amount a traveling - any other toddler would be pretty frazeled by then. I know how good it feels to be back in routine. I can't wait until Renae is in schoo, too, so that I can get back into my gym routine.
