We had a fun St. Patrick's Day! I went and bought Porter "specials" the night before for the day to make it fun. He was SO EXCITED when he saw the "candies".

He started out having breakfast of Lucky Charms (loved the marshmallows of course; especially the rainbows) and green yogurt (vanilla with food coloring), and I made sure he had a green bowl, spoon, and cup. He LOVED it!

Silly kid suddenly came out of nowhere with a dirty-Daddy-sock on his arm and chased me around going "roar!" Such a cute kid! Notice the green evidence of breakfast on his pajamas.

After breakfast we got ready and went to story time at the library. There were only two other kids there which is unusually small crowd for story time, but it is spring break. Porter was so good!

He loved doing the Teddy Bear song and that of course was ADORABLE!

For the craft they colored leprechauns (you can't see Porter's but it is lightly colored) and glued them to a stick.

Then we got DVD's and Porter asked to go do puzzles, so we did.

After the library I dragged Porter to Krumpets and he loved getting M&M's from their stash, and I loved looking at all the spring decor and colors.

Thankfully they have a bus for kids to play with and that keeps them out of trouble.

I wore my only St. Pat's day shirt I got at DI the year before last and it will make a yearly appearance. Also have a shamrock pin being hid by my hair.

Porter looked so cute in his "Daddy's Lucky Charm" shirt. After nap time we met my friend Bonny at the Discovery Center where Porter was happy to get a cookie. He played in the pool filled with balls, with the shopping cart, and the huge chalkboard (which is new). Love that place.

Happy face kid! I love catching moments like this on camera. Such a joyful expression.

Me and my little buddy.

For dinner we had green banana pancakes, green eggs, and green milk (of course on green plates). You can bet today's toilet contents were oh-so entertaining. =P (TMI??)

What did we do to get ready for bed after dinner? A green bath of course! Also had all the green bath toys we own.

Yesterday was full of fun but we didn't have time to fit everything into one day so we finished our St. Patty's Day festivities tonight. We made a candy rainbow with Twizzlers, mini-marshmallow's, and Skittles for "gold". I used white frosting to "glue" it to the plate and I did the rainbow--as Porter told me the colors and order that he knows from the Signing Time song--and he put the marshmallows underneath for the clouds.

I also made lime Jell-O desserts (they have a yummy cold treat mixed in) that have yet to be eaten but I thought were very festive.

I love food coloring! Makes holidays fun to color bath water and food.

Essential St. Patty's Day treats; may have to make this all tradition. With all this we did you may be thinking, "You have too much time on your hands." Maybe I do in a way, but I want to make holiday's fun for my kids and separate from an ordinary day. I want them to be days to look forward to. Am I having to much fun being a mother? I most definitely am. ;)

These are my holiday decorations. Mostly from DI over the past years and a few new things from Krumpets this year (not pictured).

I LOVE this time of year and our apricot tree that has the most beautiful blossoms. I wait 11 1/2 months of out of the year for this tree to look like this. It's just such a bummer that it only lasts a few weeks. Which it could last all season. I love spring!
