My baby niece has made her entrance into the world!!! Eliza Gaile Gilday was born this morning at 4:15am to Stacey (my twin) and Matt. I was more than happy to receive the call at 3:30am (MDT). She was 6 lbs 10 oz and 20 inches long. I LOVE her! Everything went as perfectly as you could possibly imagine. I'll quote what Stacey said in text messages, "...[she] has hair! A little Simon repeat! Looks just like Simon! Spittin' images! Matt pulled up Simon newborn pictures on computer, and [they] are 2 year apart twins. Has cute Matt cheeks!" She latched on immediately and no problem eating/feeding; knew exactly what to do. They gave her a binki and she went to town sucking away. She was born at 39 weeks (was going to be induced Thursday but came today) which is perfect (not too early and not late) and she is healthy. Due date was April 29th so she is 10 days early. Staying in room w/ mommy and they will go home Thursday. Much different than their last experience (Simon in NICU for 2 weeks).

Stacey started having contractions Monday morning at 3am and ended up going to the hospital because they were close together. She didn't progress enough so they sent her home to labor and told her she would probably we back within 24 hours, and she was that evening. Got an epidural (because she is sane) and had an "easy" labor and everything went smooth and perfect. I showed Porter the pictures Michelle sent me from her phone to my email and told him it was his new cousin Eliza. He just kept saying "Go doctor".

Simon went to meet her but had no interest because she resembles nothing of a rock, his favorite thing. I love this child. Can't wait to meet her in a couple weeks! Really she's half mine. ;) Congratulations to my Gilday's!
