Kite Festival Day 2011

Kite Festival!!! Saturday April 16th was a beautiful day! This is the third year we have gone (Aaron has worked it the few years before that when he was a patrol officer) and I love it. We went with our friends the Hirschi's and got the boys kites at the dollar store just before. It was fun and the boys had a great time running around!
Porter and Dax--cute little buddies.
The daddies took the boys into the "free kid games" for some play time. All four of them had a great time. I love to see good dad's spend quality time with their children.

Our cute little family. And don't tell me I look fat...it's called pregnant. =P
Porter got a bouncy ball at the kids' games, which Aaron put in his pocket. When he wanted to play with it he tried to take it out, from the inside of his shorts! He could feel it and see it in the pocket but couldn't get to it; didn't realize he could just reach his hand in his pocket. *Mommy chuckle*
Our friends Jed, Manuela, Dax, and baby Rhyse.
Porter and Dax rode the train and loved it. That's the one thing I really care about doing when we go to the festival. The past two years Aaron has gone with Porter but this year my big boy went with his friend. So grown up!
The Kite Festival is a great family event, good excuse to get outside just when the weather is getting nice, free to go in (entertainment ongoing too), wonderful opportunity for businesses to set up booths and advertise, and you just pay for food and bounce houses/rides. It's a good enjoyable family event.
Choo-choo!!!
Daddy-son duo...the best looking pair I've ever seen!
In the evening after nap time I took Porter out to go grocery shopping (had to go to Albertson's to get Life cereal...my favorite...for $1.50) and to play at Jumpin' Jacks! Needed to be out of the house so Aaron could take a nap before going to work all night and those two things did it.

I love pictures like this of Porter in action with a smile on his face.
Somehow throughout the day Porter scraped both knees (thought it was from playing outside with his friends in the cul de sac but I think it was at "jump-jump" where he got "owies"). After a day of playing, being in the sun, and jumping around, he was one tuckered little fellow.
Porter recently became attached to this cop teddy along with his Teddy. He calls it "Daddy cop light" teddy.
Sunday the 17th Porter ate his breakfast sitting in the stool backwards. He is such a cute funny kid.
Before I left for a scout meeting Sunday morning I needed to put Porter down for a nap. (Aaron was home sleeping; had worked all night and poor guy only got a couple hours of sleep before church.) After I got ready I found him already asleep on the floor. Should have left him there but transported him to his bed and he didn't really take a nap. Oops.
