Monday April 4th we had FHE (Family Home Evening) and the lesson was "Fishers of Men".

Porter and Daddy getting ready to say the opening prayer.

For the lesson I told the story about Jesus teaching the people on the shore from Simon Peter's boat found in Luke 5 in the Bible (used the two pictures from the Gospel Art Kit depicting the event) and when he had them cast the net into the water and caught so many fish their nets almost broke. We read Matthew 4:18-20 about being "fisher's of men" and what it means to follow Jesus.

For our activity Porter went "fishing". The laundry basket was his boat and Aaron had made him a fishing pole a few days before. I was behind the couch to put things on the hook. He would cast it by saying "Throw it!" and reel it in saying "Pull pull!" He caught his fish bath toys, paper fish (different colors which he loves), and treats like Gummy worms or Life Savor Gummies.

I love having Family Home Evening! Porter loves spending the time as a family playing games and singing songs. It's such a valuable venue and great quality time together. We're making memories and teaching our son and I love it. That night Aaron took Porter out to watch his team play softball (couldn't play still with an injured knee) and Porter had so much fun. I stayed home to get things done around the house. Later Aaron told me he asked Porter, "Want to go watch baseball?" Porter's reply was, "No, people baseball." "You want to go watch people play baseball?" "Yea!" Aaron said during the game Porter kept yelling, "Go people! Yea people!" =D Little dude cracks me up! He is way too adorable and just down right hilarious! Oh how I love this toddler age!
